Washington's TKO USA Karate Group Nabs Top Honors

Students from Shoreline, Washington display their
hard earned medals and awards.
19 athletes led by Joni and Alan Sharrah of USA Karate competed and won top honors, including 3 Outstanding Athlete awards, at the Region 12 Karate Championships in Grants Pass, Oregon this weekend.

All athletes from USA Karate, located in Shoreline, placed in this event, earning 17 first-place medals, 12 second-place medals, and 12 third-place medals.

Shirin Ebrahimi (17, of Shoreline), Chris Hoy (18, of Lynnwood), and Justin Wilson (16, of Lake Forest Park) each won Outstanding Junior Athlete Awards. The Grants Pass tournament is a qualifier to the 2005 AAU National Karate Championships, to be held in Lakeland, FL this summer.
