Outstanding competitors display their well deserved gold cups
displaying technical excellence and outstanding sportsmanship.
Grants Pass, OR - Over 200 athletes gathered at the Newman Heater gymnasium at the Grants Pass High School on April 30 to take part in one of the best AAU championships ever.

Directed by Sensei Del Saito and assisted by District chairs Joni Sharrah (Pacific Northwest) and Pat Haley (Pacific), there were enough officials to run 6 rings for most of the day.

Spectators and participants were treated to the fine trumpet sounds of Mr. Ron Lopes as the athletes marched into the well designed and beautiful gymnasium. Twelve year old Clark Morningstar added to the opening ceremonies with his great singing of the national anthem.

Outstanding athletes named were Chris Hoy, Eric Patterson, Shirin Ebrahimi, Justin Wilson, Tony Mendonca, Lisa Ash, Lilia Gaspar, and Julie Kiene. The Outstanding support school award was presented to Haleys Martial Arts of Chico, California.
